Is it time to lose my virginity?

I’m 17 and I’m still at school. My boyfriend is 19. He’s six foot two and an IT whiz. I’ve fancied him ever since we got chatting in a pub six months ago. He had a girlfriend then but he’s dumped her since and we’ve been together for a month.’I know he had sex with his ex, in fact I’ve heard he’s a bit of a stud – and that makes me worried.

What if he has sex with me and I don’t measure up? If I don’t have sex I know he’ll get bored and leave. Maybe I’m making a big deal of it – I know lots of my friends have had sex and they say it’s nothing to get worked up about. Is the first time supposed to be special, or is that just in the movies? This guy is gorgeous and I don’t want to lose him.

The clitoris, as you probably know, is the little mound of ultra-sensitive tissue which lies just in front of a woman’s vagina. Some women feel it’s the greatest turn-on ever, some hate it, some feel it’s a pleasurable variation, others find it irritating.

Kwame Kilpatrick, who wore a diamond earring and won election in Detroit in 2001 as the youngest big-city mayor in the United States, has been charged with eight felonies in an obstruction case that could end his once-promising career.

The prosecutor Kym Worthy said Kilpatrick, 37, lied to a jury and settled a whistleblower lawsuit with $US8.4 million ($9.2 million) in tax dollars to hide an affair with his chief of staff. If convicted, the politician once dubbed the “playah mayah”, will lose his job and could face jail.

What about his wife?

The Detroit City Council voted 7-1 last week to demand Kilpatrick’s resignation, but he vowed on Monday to fight on. He predicted a “full and complete vindication” and said he would do the city’s business while awaiting trial.

Kilpatrick apologised on television in January after the Detroit Free Press revealed steamy text messages that contradicted his sworn statements that he had no romantic relationship with Christine Beatty, 37, who resigned in February. He said it was a private matter, something he would work out with his wife.
